Cellular jail was a colonial prison used mainly to exile the prisoners all the way in the Andamans.
One of the most famous of the inmates was Veer Savarkar and when you visit you get a separate guided tour to his cell.
Besides the dark history behind the prison (which you can read about online), the architecture and view is amazing. Today it is a notable national memorial.
We spent our first day at the Andamans with a visit to the Cellular jail in Post Blair.
If you missed the shenanigans we did at the Cellular Jail refer to previous blog post link : http://cressidafonseca.blogspot.in/2015/02/letter-252-dreams-do-come-true.html
But for now this is a watercolour sketch I did while reminiscing what a lovely time we had at the Andamans.
